Websites Built For Eyecare Practices

The website standards already exist. We build them into your website.

OptiSite rebuilds your website using published accessibility standards and search-engine guidance, tests the implementation, and maintains it every month. So patients can more easily find your practice, understand your services, and take the next step.

Accessibility · Search readiness · Mobile usability · Ongoing maintenance

Review your new website before approving the switch. See a complete sample report (PDF).

Built. Checked. Documented.
What every OptiSite build goes through
  • Accessibility reviewMapped to published WCAG 2.2 AA criteria, with human review where a scan cannot settle it.
  • Search-readiness checksDocumented search guidance applied to your doctors, services and locations.
  • Mobile and appointment-path testingCalling, directions, booking and portal links, tested on a phone.
  • Findings and corrections you can inspectEvery finding names what it is based on, and what we changed.

This is the process, not a set of results. Your own findings come from the audit.

Short answer

What is OptiSite?

OptiSite builds a brand-new website for independent eyecare practices, designed around one question: how easily can a new patient find you, trust you, and book you? We test your site the way a patient uses it, rebuild it with ADA accessibility, Google, AI search and easy booking engineered in, and re-check it every month. Nothing is charged until your site is live and approved.

The Patient Test

We test like they browse.

A grandmother on a tablet at breakfast, a parent on a phone between errands, someone at a desk on a lunch break — your next patient is one of these people. Every check we run asks whether that person can find you, trust you and book you without calling for help.

Where This Comes From

Published standards. Practical implementation.

The standards are public. Our service is putting the relevant requirements and guidance into a working practice website, documenting what we checked, and maintaining it as they move.

Accessibility standards

Mapped to published WCAG 2.2 Level A and AA criteria.

  • Named by criterion number on every finding
  • Automated findings and human-review status identified separately
  • What a scan cannot settle is flagged, not passed

Published search guidance

Documented guidance, applied to a practice website.

  • Readiness is not a promise of ranking or inclusion
  • The same core practices carry into AI results
  • No proprietary ranking formula is claimed

Patient usability

Practical tasks a patient has to complete, labeled as usability checks.

  • Booking reachable without hunting
  • Insurance answers that do not need a phone call
  • Directions and portal links that go where they say
One Job

Your website has one job: help the right patient take the next step.

Find you

Can patients find your practice, doctors, locations and services?

  • Google visibility
  • Local search readiness
  • Location pages
  • Doctor visibility

Trust you

Does your website give patients enough confidence to choose your practice?

  • Doctor bios and credentials
  • Reviews
  • Services and insurance information
  • Clear patient answers

Book you

Can a patient actually take action without fighting the website?

  • Schedule appointment
  • Click-to-call and forms
  • Mobile booking
  • Portal access
The Patient Test

We use your website like a new patient would.

A technical scanner can tell you that a button exists. We go further — OptiSite tests whether a patient can actually use the website to accomplish the things that matter.

Real patient goals we test:

  • “I need an eye exam.”
  • “Do you take my insurance?”
  • “Where is the closest location?”
  • “I want to schedule.”
  • “Where is the patient portal?”
  • “Which doctor treats this condition?”

What We See Most

Common obstacles between patients and appointments.

Every finding is written for an owner first — what we see, why it matters to a patient, and the fix — with the technical evidence underneath for your web team.

Booking action creates friction

What we see
A patient clicks an appointment action but is sent somewhere other than expected.
Why it matters
A potential drop-off point at the exact moment the patient is trying to act.
OptiSite fix
Direct, persistent appointment access with a verified destination.

Important action is hard to find on mobile

What we see
The patient must scroll or search before seeing the next step.
Why it matters
Patients on a phone should not have to hunt for the action the practice wants them to take.
OptiSite fix
Persistent mobile appointment and contact actions.

ADA, Built In

Accessibility is engineered into the website. It is also the law.

A site every patient can use is how you book more of them — and it is what the ADA and the federal deadlines expect. OptiSite builds to WCAG 2.2 AA and re-runs all 61 accessibility checks every month.

Questions, Answered

More on this page’s topic

Is there a tax credit for making my practice website accessible?
There is a federal Disabled Access Credit (IRS Form 8826): 50% of qualifying accessibility costs above $250, up to $5,000 a year, for practices under $1 million in receipts or 30 full-time staff. Whether your work qualifies is a question for your CPA — this is not tax advice — see how the Disabled Access Credit works for the detail.
Did OptiSite invent these website standards?
No. The accessibility rules are WCAG 2.2, published by the W3C, and the search guidance is Google’s own documentation. Neither is ours and neither is secret. What we sell is the work: putting the relevant parts into a real practice website, checking that they are actually there, explaining what we found, and keeping it that way as the standards move.
If the guidance is public, why do I need OptiSite?
Because reading it and implementing it are different jobs. A practice owner with a full clinic is not going to audit 290+ items, rebuild a site against them, and re-check it every month. You can hand the report to your current web company instead — it is written so they can act on it, and that is a legitimate outcome for us.
Who is OptiSite for?
Independent optometrists, opticians and eyewear shops in the United States. We do not build for hospital groups, for franchises, or for anyone outside eyecare.
How long does an OptiSite build take?
About two weeks from the start date you pick. A person reads every page before it goes live.
Do I keep my current web address and email?
Yes. Your web address, your email and any links patients already have all keep working. Only the website itself changes, and we handle the switch.
Who owns the website?
The practice does. There is no long-term contract, and the site stays up until the end of the period you have paid for if you cancel.
How much work is a new website for my practice?
One 30-minute call at the start and one read-through at the end. We begin from the site you already have, so nothing is written from a blank page — your words, photos, hours, doctors and insurance list come across. On the call you tell us what to drop, what to change and anything that is missing. Nothing switches over until you have looked at every page and said yes.
